Little, lovely lace suit

Last week in London, I paid a visit to the Camden based showroom of
My Wardrobe and got to try some things on for a little shoot. Soon, I had my eyes on this lace jumpsuit by Alice by Temperley. It has the fun and flirty vibe of a dress but is a little less sweet because it has shorts and a big zip in the back. Paired it with some of the most comforable heels ever, a rope belt, a tiny Muberry, et voilà.

New buys from London

In the few hours of shopping time in London, I found a replacement for my favorite grey T that has a tiny hole since last week (sad, it was my softest top) a new cuff, fun nail colors at Topshop (my little pleasure) and a midi length pleated skirt in a beautiful wine color that I'll wear in spring.

Burberry F/W 11 at Horseferry House

During London Fashion Week, no show is as highly anticipated as Burberry Prorsum. So going to the Burberry Hourseferry House for a personal look at the collection that was on the runway just one day before, felt like an honor. The Horseferry House is an enormous building with the new show playing over and over on huge screens and the S/S 11 campaign printed meters high on the walls. Women with perfect figures and six inch Burberry Prorsum boots were walking in and out. The lovely Samantha gave me a tour, explaining all the materials and thoughts behind the Burberry designs.

This F/W collection has a strong emphasis on coats, made out of thick wool and with perfected shapes. There is a lot of fur, incredible platform boots, and the colors are warm and saturated. And even though I am still a huge fan of the S/S 11 collection, with the extreme jackets, colorful dresses and neon belts, it's good that Christopher Bailey went in a different direction here instead of doing another set of rock & roll trenches. Being unexpected keeps things fresh and exciting and that's what it's all about after all.

Back to the future

It's just 24 hours ago that I was dancing and drinking the best Mojito's at Sketch in London, most likely the craziest club I've ever seen. Never before did I think the toilets were a cool photo location but at Sketch they are futuristic, white eggs with different sounds and light when you enter - plus a toilet, not to forget. Mine kept saying "Get ready for take off" and it felt like I was in Back to the future or something (in my case Black to the future). I was there to celebrate the re-launch ofMy Wardrobe, and they revealed a completely new and fresh website and online direction.

It was also my last day at London Fashion Week and I decided to go for drapes with my new Acne Darling dress and a Gestuz suede jacket with leather sleeves that I got to borrow and am head over heels with. I'm back home now and going straight to bed, talk to you soon!

London diary

Excuse the lack of posting, internet is a little challenging in London, and next to that we're too busy having a great time in this fabulous city ;)! I'm typing this from the My Wardrobe showroom and am about to try some beautiful items on and shoot with them. Can't wait to show you the results! In the mean time; here are some snapshots from my first day at London Fashion Week.

What am I looking at?
1. Out for cocktails in kimono dress / 2. Amazing restaurant in East London / 3. My hand luggage, in which I always bring my most precious / expensive items, just to be sure / 4. Delicious pizza's followed by an even better desert  - let's hope I fit in to these samples today ;) / 5. Old bath tub lounge.

Clutch Give Away!

Got a little surprise for you: I'm giving away this black enveloppe clutch to one of my readers! It's oversized with gold details, a wrist band and a removable shoulder strap so you can wear it multiple ways. I have one of these by Shampalove myself - I love oversized clutches - and I'm briging it with me to London Fashion Week tomorrow. And now one of you can have it too! To enter the give away: simply like Shampalove om Facebook here and follow me on Bloglovin'!

Dark clouds, big knits

With February not nearly as sunny as I had hoped (although there are some good days, so there's light at the end of the tunnel after all) I found myself in need of one more big knit before the season ended. My favorite chunky cardigan started to pill and I wanted something cozy to wear with everything that didn't feel as formal as my blazers. So I got this one atZalando (where I also discovered the Vagabond shoes I want, but I tried to stick to just what I needed). And about that arm candy I'm sporting; I've loved Balenciaga for years and always wanted to save up for a City bag. So I borrowed my mom's for a little while to test if I still like it as much... I'll keep you posted.

Gestuz knit at Zalando / Zara skirt (of which a seam is already coming undone, great surprise) / Balenciaga bag (mom's) / Shampalove shoes

At Avelon

Me and Avelon designer Erik Frenken

Last week I dropped by SPRMRKT, one of my favorite designer stores in the entire country, selling Helmut Lang, Acne and T by Alexander Wang – just to name a few. I came to have a look at Avelon's S/S11 and A/W11 collection, designed by Erik Frenken. Rings a bell? No wonder; Erik Frenken designed for Viktor & Rolf and Blue Blood before.

I was definitely attracted to the playful shapes and mixed fabrics in jackets and pants and the big knits. In Erik’s own words: This season is all about balancing softness with raw cut pieces, worked directly on top of skin or "filled in" with sheer fabric.”  Yeah, sounds good to me! I expect to hear a lot more from this brand in the future and can see why Opening Ceremony picked up the line... And for the style savvy online shoppers; they just opened an e-store here.
